We use cork for both our insoles and midsoles due to its unique set of properties, not found in any other naturally existing material. It's lightweight, comfortable, moldable, hypoallergenic, soft and buoyant. (Also, cork is anti-bacterial making it virtually odour-free)
On top of this, cork forests are one of the most sustainable and environmentally harvested forests in the world. The bark is ready to be re-harvested after 9 to 12 years allowing for a constant supply of natural bark. In fact, a 200 year old cork tree can be harvested over 16 times!
