Today is International Zero Waste Day! We are constantly implementing new ways to create a sustainable future and understand the importance of a circular economy and recycling materials that are seen as waste. LØCI uses 20 plastic bottles recycled from our oceans to create 1 pair of sneakers because we believe style doesn't have to be compromised when going eco-friendly. Using renewable energy sources and biodegradable, recyclable or renewable materials will have a positive impact on the planet and it is important we do all we can to implement a sustainable lifestyle.

Why should we act now? It is predicted that by 2050 there will be more plastic in our oceans than there are fish but, as we stand today, this can be prevented through our choices and actions in everyday life. Small changes such as using a reusable water bottle rather than purchasing plastic ones, bringing your own reusable bag to the shops, investing in sustainable products that are longer lasting and donating and rehoming styles you no longer need rather than throwing them away, are all steps towards a greener future.

So far, LØCI have removed over 1 million plastic water bottles from our ocean and we continue to work to make fashion sustainable. International Zero Waste Day is a reminder that there are alternatives to wasting materials and the smallest changes will make a visible difference to mother nature if we all get on board.
